Meat Locker is an artistic documentary project of the process by which meat is brought to boutique retail shops in Toronto. It was the result of an intensive week-long Magnum Photos workshop in May 2013. I had the great pleasure of learning from Moises Saman and having him assist with the project throughout the entire process, including final edits and sequencing.
The eight photos were derived from a visit to a cattle farm, four visits to meat processors and packagers, and over ten visits to retail butchers and fishmongers over a five day period.
A thorough review of my experience at this workshop can be found on the Eric Kim Street Photography Blog.
